Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient healing system that has been around for over 3,000 years. TCM practitioners use a combination of acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, moxibustion (warming of acupuncture points), Chinese herbs, tui na (massage) and diet and lifestyle counseling to treat a wide range of conditions.
According to Chinese philosophy, vital energy or Qi flows along pathways in the body called meridians, which each corresponds to a particular organ system. Acupuncture points are located along these meridians, with each point carrying a particular function. The practice of acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles to stimulate various points along these meridians with the intention of restoring balance to the body.
While many people are familiar with acupuncture to treat various types of pain, it can also be effective in treating many other conditions including, but not limited to:
- Fatigue
- Migraines
- Insomnia
- Allergies
- Digestive Disorders
- Common Colds and Flu
- Stress and Anxiety
- Depression
|
- PMS
- Menopausal symptoms
- Irregular Menses
- Infertility
- Pregnancy Related Issues
- Labor Preparation
