Craniosacral therapy and Visceral Manipulation
Provider: Dr. Teresa Neff
Craniosacral therapy (CST) and Visceral Manipulation are gentle hands-on bodywork techniques that identify and release restrictions held in the joints and tissues of the body. These techniques are based on the idea that every tissue in the body has a natural rhythm or motion that aids its function.
This concept is most easily understood when we think about the rhythm of our heart beat or the peristaltic movement of the intestines. Restrictions held in the joints and organs, from injuries, surgeries, or stress, for example, often cause discomfort and dysfunction. Releasing these restrictions helps to restore normal motion to the body, alleviate discomfort, and improve function. These gentle non-invasive treatments also help to facilitate a parasympathetic state in which the body can rest and focus on healing.
CST can be useful for conditions including:
In adults:
Transient or sustained stress
Traumas, accidents, concussions
Muscle or nervous system disorders

C-section or birth trauma
Torticollis
Recurrent ear infections
ADD/ADHD
